Kindle Case

I recently made a case for my Kindle.  Someone described the colors as being "happy" colors and that is such an awesome compliment - I couldn't agree more!
I used Anita Goodesign's Crazy Stitch Quilt collection to stitch out the cover (block FDS8 Size A to be exact).   It's one of the the rectangle blocks in the collection. I used a plate to make a curved flap rather than leaving it straight.  I had to add a couple inches or so to the cover to make the block long enough and used that area for the velcro placement.
I used this online tutorial by Dixie Mango to figure out the measurements. There is a second link in the post that you'll need to look at too as the tutorial was originally written for an iPad and then modified for an eReader. I added fusible fleece to the lining so I have a nice soft case. One thing I did do differently than the tutorials was to wait until the lining was sewn and turned and topstitched before I added the velcro as I wasn't quite sure how the embroidered block and extra length would all work. With all of the embroidery on the flap I have to really look to find where I sewed on the velcro.

Time to bring out the Kindle and do some reading!!!

Thanks for stopping by....   Rita
