A couple of days ago I had my camera with me while looking over the flower garden - never know what one will one across so for once I wanted to be prepared to capture Mother Nature!  I was not disappointed.  My yellow and cream Zinnias were being kept company by the bees.  The bees were fast moving but I did get a couple of photos!

They are neat little insects to look at - in a photo, of course!  In real life I don't linger too long for fear of being stung!

I also browsed through ETSY to find any bees that may be lurking there and here is what I found:

Christmas in July Blog Hop

The monthly PaperWings Blog Hop is  once again upon us.  The Blog Hop theme for July is none other than the ever popular "Christmas in July."  We have lots of people participating this month so be sure to stop by their blogs too - you will find the list and links at the end of this post.

For my Christmas in July card, I selected one of my all time favorite stamp sets - Snowman Nativity!  It is a set of 13 stamps - 5 images and 8 word stamps.  The word stamps tell the  Christmas Story!

I stamped this image with black Momento Ink, colored it with Copics, and used the Amberly Grace cardstock and ribbon for the layering.

While it is a bit warm this July day to be thinking of Christmas, I do hope you like the card!

And here is everyone else who is participating in the blog hop...

Button Rings by Jen Carter

When I first met Jen Carter of JenniferDCarter's shop, I was blown away by her suburb talent when it came to ink, paper, and rubber stamps.  Well, she has blown me away once again as she transforms ordinary buttons into beautiful and elegant Button Rings!

Just take a look at this vibrant Orange Zest Button Ring!  It is wrapped with black permanently colored copper wire.

And how about this one!!  It is a "cute ring for a child featuring small Raspberry Fizz & Plum Pudding buttons."  As Jen says,  "this ring will be a hit with your child and her friends."

And this is one of my favorites too!  It is a Purple Marble Wire Button Ring that is wrapped with silver-plated wire for a stunning look!

Don't you agree with me that these button rings are out of this world!  Be sure to check out Jen's ETSY shop, as well as, her blog for more delightful creations!

EtsyTwitter Shop of the Week: Smutopia

The Shop of the Week for the ETSY Twitter Team is SmuTopia!  You will find nature inspired handmade jewelry and accessories in Jessica's shop.  Her works incorporate  stone, glass, and metal beads.

My favorite is Jessica's Seaflower Pendant Necklace.  Jessica's describes this piece as featuring "a large mother of pearl donut of ivory and pink hues with a shimmering iridescent sheen. The pink and peach overtones and highlighted by the small "peaches and cream" bellflower czech glass bead suspended at the apex of the donut where a dainty antiqued brass chain is knotted through a smaller hole in the nacre (nacre is another name for mother-of-pearl)."  I would describe it as absolutely stunning!

Stop by Jessica's shop and her blog to view more!

More Cats and Dogs

And here is a continuation of the Cat and Dog cards from the PaperWings Challenge!  A big thank you to those participating!

First, my latest dog card from the Bow Chica Bow Wow set!  The image is colored using copics and is layered using the Angelee Paper Collection.  The popped up wings are highlighted with a clear glitter pen and the image is colored with copics, of course!

Julie of Julie's Stamp Pad made two cards for the challenge.  The first card is from our new Fibi & Lilly stamp set.  If you love cats and kittens, you'll absolutely love this stamp set!  And Julie's second card is from the new Kitty Kitty Kitty set - another must have set for cat and kitten lovers!

Carol of Stampin Hot in Arizona also used the new Kitty Kitty Kitty stamp set for the card she made for the challenge!  You'll also see a card made with a new dog set on her blog so be sure to check it out.

And the last, but certainly not least, card for the challenge is from Mary who hails from Montana.  This kitty is from a  set called Cupcake Cuties!

I hope you enjoyed this edition of Cats and Dogs!

Butterflies in the Backyard

I have a few butterflies hanging around the backyard and was fortunate enough to snap a few photos of this lovely yellow and black butterfly before it flittered off to another yard.  I'm keeping a keen eye on the flower pots and flower gardens now to see if I can "catch" a few more!

Happy 4th of July

As I write this tonight, our community is hosting our annual 4th of July Fireworks display.  Not only can I hear the bangs and the rumblings from my home, but I can also see the beautiful, colorful display of fireworks above the treetops from my home .  So rather than watching them at the park, I enjoy them from my front steps!  It is a fitting end to a beautiful, warm (well, hot) breezy, summer day!

Whether you are celebrating the 4th with BBQs, picnics, baseball games, family get togethers, vacations, long weekends, concerts, fireworks, or parades, enjoy your celebration and stay safe in your travels!

And take a look at these Red, White, and Blue creations from The Unique Women in Business (UWIB) ETSY Street Team.   Enjoy!!

Happy 4th of July!
