Fine Art by Robin Maria Pedrero

Robin is one of my favorite artists!  I love how she uses color to capture life and nature!  Her ablility to use color definitely makes her work stand out. The use of relationships, stories and mystery in her work, entices viewers.  Robin's art, indeed, is original.  Her pieces are unique;  they are one of a kind.  From her original work, Robin makes prints and limited edition giclees.

In her ETSY shop, RobinMariaPedrero, you will find Robin's prints and art on products.  What are art on products?  They are fine art bags and accessories, mugs, and cards.  Occasionally, you will find her original art pieces too!

My favorite piece of art that Robin has created is Grazing Beneath a Garnet Sky.  I have this print and I also have one of Robin's newest accessories, a  Pouch Key Ring, that uses this piece of art.

Her Good Vibes print, is uplifting and cheerful - aren't the falling leaves, ascending foliage and bird rising above towards the sun simply breathtaking.

And then we also have Breath of Cooler Air.  What a delightful piece to remind of us of the cooler air and changing colors of fall.

And what has helped Robin be successful with her online business?  Robin's advice is to work with ETSY teams, be kind to one another, help each other grow and learn the business of online sales.  These things have helped Robin tremendously in becoming a successful Etsian.

Want to see and/or hear more from Robin?  Here's where you can find her!

Cherry Pie

After sewing this apron and making this treasury, I truly believe I need to run to the grocery store and buy the ingredients to make a cherry pie!  I can smell it!  I can taste it!  What a wonderful addition it will be to the evening meal!

My latest product addition for my ETSY store, RitasCreationsOnETSY, is aprons for girls.  I constructed this one with a Cherry Themed Tutti Frutti fabric.  There are so many fun designs in this fabric line and you will be seeing more in the near future.  Want Ice Cream Cones - there is one in my shop at the moment!

How do you like my new model?  I'm going to have to name her so if you have any suggestions I'd love to hear them.  Some how even having a mannequin without a name is just too impersonal - LOL!

So, here's one of my new aprons... I make these in 3 different sizes for girls - 3-4, 5-6, and 7-8.

And, I also made this "Let's Bake a Cherry Pie" treasury - (you can navigate to everyone's store featured here by clicking on the treasury link).

Thanks for stopping by....  and please drop by later this evening for a piece of cherry pie and some coffee!

Blue Birds

It's time for a post again, albeit a very short one!

A few weeks ago I was playing with my Copic Markers and the "Tail Feathers" stamp set from The Angel Company.  These birdies are so adorable and just beg to be stamped and colored!  I'm still learning how to use these addictive Copics so there is a lots of room for improvement.  That being said, here is one of the images that I completed:

Want to see more Blue Birds?  Well, here's an ETSY Treasury full of them....

Did You Know??

Now that the 2010 Craft Show Season is over and I'm finally recovering from the Post-Craft-Show-Syndrome, I have found some time to catch up and dig into a number of things that I've been wanting to do with my ETSY Store, Twitter, Facebook, and blog.  And what I'm finding out is just amazing...

So, did  you know....

1.  If you have 25 or more followers on Facebook, you can easily direct someone to your page by setting a username for it rather than copying all of those letters/numbers in the url.  The only caveat is you can only set it once.   Here's the link to accomplish that,

2.  You can track the ETSY search words that buyers are using to get to your listings in Google Analytics.  Here's how.... (see item 2)

3.  TweetDeck,, is a personal real-time browser that shows you activity in Twitter, Facebook, MySpace and more.  It is a quick, easy, single view of your key social-media resources and lists.   Thanks Robin!!

My New Copic Storage Cubbies

Organizing my crafts is always a challenge for me!  I know where things are - until I put them away!!

So, please share in my excitement about my new Copic Storage Cubbies from Studio3Solutions.  I can now actually see the color family I want!  I'm going to be able to grab the colors I want quickly!   And, as my collection grows - with Sketches, of course - my little cubbies will be full to the brim!!  Oh what joy...

I will be labeling the ends of my Ciao's using the labels that Asela from Hop Art Studio has created and is so kindly sharing!  Although, I suspect I will leave that project for one of those cold, snowy days that we will soon be experiencing here in Minnesota!  I don't want to get too organized too quickly!

Here's my 3 cubbies as they look now...

I'm off to "copic" again!

Perky Penguins

I've been playing with my Copics today!  They are so much fun to use and I am constantly learning how to use them.  I'm still a novice so it's practice, practice, and more practice!

I used one of the adorable penguins from The Angel Company's Perky Penguin stamp set.

For the pom pom and brim on the hat, I used B21 and the Colorless Blender - I laid down B21 and then dotted it with the Colorless Blender.  For the scarf I used a cross-hatch pattern of sorts with B21 and B24.  The beak and feet are colored with Yr02, YR04, and Yr07.  And the skis were done with E33, E35, and E37.  I'm not crazy about the snow effect I tried to create under the skis so it's off to practice some more snow!

Today's Abundance
- A day of playing in my Copic sandbox

Paperwings Blog Hop

It's time again for our Paperwings Blog Hop!!  This month's theme is "Anything but an A2 Card."  "What is an A2 card" you ask?  Well, it is the standard sized greeting card.  You know, the kind that is folded in half that ends up being 5 1/2 x 4 1/4 inches in size.  So, this blog hop is any other kind of card.  Be sure to check out all of the blog hop participants - you will see their links at the end of the post.

I chose one of my standard favorites for this blog hop - the 3 x 3 card.  You can use these 3 x 3 cards as gift cards and thank you notes.  Tuck them inside a loved ones lunch bag or include on a scrapbook page or even inside a journal.  You can even turn them into gift tags by punching a hole in the upper left hand corner and attaching some ribbon to it!

I used two stamps sets from The Angel Company on these gift cards: Watercolor Plants and Tag Tidbits.

Now start your hop by checking out these blogs!!

Today's Mystery (a.k.a. How'd this get here?)

Bread on a fence!  That's a new one!  How did this piece of bread get up on this chain link fence that sits between I and the neighbor?  Neither I nor the neighbor did it.  It's not a place that neighborhood kids can get to easily.  I saw a cat up on the fence a few days ago but would a cat jump up there with a piece of bread?  Did the squirrels do it?  And, if so, why did they leave it?  Maybe they scurried away when I came out to walk the puppy.  Is that why I hear one scolding me from the tree?  And if it was the squirrels, where did they get the piece of bread?  It is a perfectly good piece (i.e. it isn't moldy or anything like that).  And where were they taking it too?  Why over the middle of the fence where there's no easy access to trees or bushes?  And, how on earth did that piece of bread ever manage not to fall down onto the ground but rather just stay sitting on top of the fence?  Oh, what questions I have!  Will the mystery ever be solved?  How do you think it got there?

Sakura Design

SakuraDesign is a fellow HandmadeMN Team member.  I first saw her beautifully handmade pieces when I unwrapped her Gift Basket and Swag Bag donations for the HandmadeMN Fall Market on November 20th.  Her designs and her business card really intrigued me.

In her handmade pieces you will "discover a fun and fresh line of Japanese paper crafts where cultural tradition inspires contemporary kokeshi and kimono design."  You can also "explore the beauty, elegance, and simplicity of Japanese kimonos, kokeshi dolls, chiyogami, and washi papers...all handcrafted in the form of greeting cards, jewelry, gift tags, bookmarks, and more."

This is an example of a greeting card bundle that can be found at SakuraDesign.  The vibrant colors are very striking!

And here is an exquisite piece of jewlery (by the way, SakuraDesigns has a jewlery sale going on during October):

And take a look at these fantastic Gift Tags!  Who wouldn't want to receive a gift with these attached?

Winter Flurries

Even though I am enjoying our beautiful fall weather, there is a part of me that is bracing for winter.  However, given the hot and humid summer we had, I think winter will be more than tolerable this year!!

I've been working on some winter cards and one of my most favorite winter themed sets is Winter Flurries from The Angel Company.

The image is colored with my beloved Copics!  The paper and ribbon are from The Angel Company's Lilly Anna collection.  The image is matted with the Large Labels Nestablilities.  And the final touches are the pearl gems as embellishments.

Toot! Toot!

I won!  I won!  Yep - I won another TAC, The Angel Company, monthly contest that is held for demonstrators.  The theme for this contest was "Sweet Treats."  This project was so very much fun to make!  I constructed several triangular cake boxes out of our Miss Moxie paper collection, decorated them with images from our Halloween Stamp Sets, made a Spider to sit on the top of the cake, and then filled the boxes with a variety of treats.

You can find a couple more photos of this Sweet Treat creation by clicking here!  Now I just have to be patient to get our new fall supplement so I can go shopping for free stamps!

Be sure to check out the other contest winners this month too...  you'll find the whole list here.

Cheers To You!

I colored my first copic Beer Mug !  Wonder how it "tastes?"  And this is how it looks on the birthday card:

I used the Cheers To You stamp set from The Angel Company along with the Hemingway Paper Collection.  Here's a closer look at the mug of beer itself...

Along with Copic Pens YR20, YR21, YR23, Y17, and 0, I also highlighted parts of the mug and beer with a Clear Glitter Pen to give the illusion of  an ice cold, frosty, drink - it's hard to see in the photo though!

I also found many beer related items on ETSY - the creativity is so marvelous!

Delightfully Spooky!

I absolutely love the Delightfully Spooky stamp set from The Angel Company!  It is an awesome Halloween set with 5 images and 3 greetings!    For this card set, I also used the now retired Simply Spooky paper collection.  I am so thankful I had accumulated a few pads of this paper before it was retired.

All of the images were hand-colored with Copic Markers.  I'm really like using them and am learning a lot!  Practice!  Practice! Practice! is the key to using them.  Over the next two months I am taking 3 different classes on Copics.  The first one is at a local Scrapbooking Shop and the topic is skin and hair - can hardly wait!  Then, I was fortunate enough to get into a Copic Certification class - yippee!!  And finally, I am taking a two day class offered by The Angel Company for its demonstrators!! That will be so awesome!

Anyways, here's the results....

You can also see all of the  individual cards at RitasCreationsOnETSY!

Paperwings Blog Hop

Tonight is another blog hop hosted by Shirley H. from Paperwings, a fantastic resource for demonstrators from The Angel Company.  The gallery is also open for all visitors to peruse to see all of the wonderful creations that we have!

The theme for this Blog Hop is fall with anything related to fall fair game:  Back to School, Halloween, Fall, etc.  Since it is never to early to start thinking of witches and goblins and scarecrows and the like, I chose to do Halloween using the Delightfully Spooky Halloween Set. The image is colored with Copics and uses the Miss Moxie Designer Paper.

And here is the closeup of the cute little witch.... (it's a little out of focus...)

Dogs and Shoes

Where or where are my shoes?  Lately they have been disappearing and I find them in the oddest places!  The culprit:  Rusty.  I finally caught him in action with my work shoes and my bright pink sandals!  He has so much fun with them.

I have come to learn that dogs chew because that is what a dog is supposed to do.  That is how nature has designed them to be!  Chewing is enjoyable for dogs just as a baby likes the pacifier, the child likes a lollipop, and adults like chewing gum. Dogs find a lot of comfort being around their humans and, therefore, also find much comfort in their scent.  So, shoes satisfy the need to chew and the desire to be close to their beloved human!

And isn't this one so very cute and so very irresistible!  Who wouldn't fall in love with him and, thus, not get overly bent out of shape when he chews on the shoes!!

And what puppy or dog wouldn't love to chew on these!

A couple of days ago I had my camera with me while looking over the flower garden - never know what one will one across so for once I wanted to be prepared to capture Mother Nature!  I was not disappointed.  My yellow and cream Zinnias were being kept company by the bees.  The bees were fast moving but I did get a couple of photos!

They are neat little insects to look at - in a photo, of course!  In real life I don't linger too long for fear of being stung!

I also browsed through ETSY to find any bees that may be lurking there and here is what I found:

Christmas in July Blog Hop

The monthly PaperWings Blog Hop is  once again upon us.  The Blog Hop theme for July is none other than the ever popular "Christmas in July."  We have lots of people participating this month so be sure to stop by their blogs too - you will find the list and links at the end of this post.

For my Christmas in July card, I selected one of my all time favorite stamp sets - Snowman Nativity!  It is a set of 13 stamps - 5 images and 8 word stamps.  The word stamps tell the  Christmas Story!

I stamped this image with black Momento Ink, colored it with Copics, and used the Amberly Grace cardstock and ribbon for the layering.

While it is a bit warm this July day to be thinking of Christmas, I do hope you like the card!
