Pocket Card

It was a beautiful day today - sunshine, a slight breeze, fresh air after an overnight rain, and temperatures in the 70s! We need to savor these days as all too soon the snow will be flying here in the Midwest...

The Pocket Card is one of my favorites. This one is made from The Angel Company's Mulberry Paper Collection. I used white brilliance ink along with the Speckled and Dance with My Spirit Stamp Sets. Add some Bitty Flowers and other embellishments and you're done.

Today's Abundance List
-Electricity
-Fresh Vegetables from the Farmers Market

Chipboard Coaster

I'm so excited that the Girls Limited Edition Stamps are being offered in September with our new Lily Anna and Mimi collections (patterned papers, cardstock, ribbon, and hardware) for only $24.95). These girls are the same ones that Seminar attendees received. I loved creating with them. And I received so many wonderful swaps using these girls too!

This is my Club Med Swap. It's is a mini coaster album using one of the girls that will be featured in the Mimi Girls Limited Edition Set. The paper is the Uptown Paper. This is going to look so adorable with the Mimi Collection too!!

-Finding my cat curled up in an empty TAC cardboard box

-Sunshine and reasonable temperatures

-4 delightful ladies (and new customers) - they asked for a special workshop

My Other Passion - Quilting

In addition to stamping and scrapbooking, I love to quilt. Here is a queen size quilt that I recently pieced and quilted. It will be raffled off in conjunction with our United Way Drive at work. All tickets sales go directly to local United Way agencies. The raffle has raised between $2,000 and $2,500 every year for the past 5 years.

For those of you who are quilters, the pattern is the Yellow Brick Road. I have used this pattern for baby quilts, guy quilts, and now this queen size quilt. The earth tones are lovely. And, other than the border and binding, the entire quilt is from scraps!! (Gee - now I have more room for stamping and scrapping stuff!!)

Have a great day...

Mini Clipboard

I made this mini clipboard earlier this year for one of TAC's contests. I love this set - Creative Genius. I used the stamper/scrapbooker for this project. The stamp set also has a knitter, a potter, and a painter.
I paper pieced the clothes, shoes, and the supply box on the table. Aquacrayons and a blender pen were used to finish the reaminder of the image. Would you believe I made 3 of these before I decided I had completely gone off the deep end!!

6x6 Scrapbook Page

Swirly Gigs, HeSaidSheSaid, Rustic Chic paper, Scrappers Floss, and Stippling were used for this 6x6 Scrapbook Page.

The corner triangle piece of Rustic Chic paper is actually a pocket for the tag. You'll find that I use scrappers floss a lot - and this tag is just one more creative use for it.

Any guesses as to who the baby and the teenage girl are? They are one in the same - my daughter Angi!

August Card Kit

I've been busy today cutting out new stamps, labeling them, and trying to get the craft room organized once again. The later is a never ending challenge! And then I ran across the Tickled Pink Stamp Set and knew right away that was the stamp set for the August Card Kit.

Do you remember the Pink Flamingo Lawn Ornaments (or maybe you still have some.)

They are so tacky yet so cool!

Here's some trivia:

The first atomic-pink molded plastic lawn flamingo went on sale in 1957. It was an immediate success; in the next decade, Americans bought millions of them. But by the 1970s, lawn flamingos were gathering dust on the hardware store shelves. In 1983, the New York Times ran an article title "Where Did All Those (Plastic) Flamingos Go?" Suddenly, lawn flamingos were flying again. 1985 was a record year, with 450,000 sold in the United States.!

Some people actually travel with their pink flamingos! The plastic birds go camping, hiking, skiing, and mountain biking. Entire web sites are devoted to the travels of these artificial creatures. And to think we just stamp with them!!

The August Card Kit is ready. It features the adorable Tickled Pink Stamp Set - 4 very adorable flamingos and 6 delightful sayings.

The kit is $19.99 which includes the stamp set, the cardstock, the patterned paper, and the embellishments. (Shipping and tax included.) Just send me an email to order.

Fun with Mimi

After sleeping in on a rainy Saturday morning, the need for my paper fix kicked in! Here's a Thank You card made from The Angel Company's Mimi Collection and the Be Authentic Stamp Set.

.
And what about this? I cut the flower and leaves from the paper and will add it to the inside of the card! Just call me crazy! That, or the caffeine is starting to kick in.

Simply Christmas and Amelia

I've been playing with our new stamps and papers. This card uses the Simply Christmas Stamp Set and our new Amelia Papers and coordinating cardstock, embellishments, and ribbons. The reindeer and greeting are embossed. And using the crop-a-dile, that we now carry, made setting those 4 eyelets a breeze!

I've Been Published

I got a surprise envelope in my mail today. It was one of those plain brown envelopes. To my surprise when I opened it up I found a copy of Simply Sentiments (Volume 4, Issue 2) inside plus a card that I had submitted for submission many, many months ago.

The issue was from the spring sometime as it had Mother's Day, Father's Day, and Graduation Card as it main themes. (Today is August 1!!) Yes, they sent the complimentary copy out a bit late. I had let my subscription to the magazine lapse so this was the first time that I had seen the magazine.

The morale of the story is to never give up hope of seeing a submission in print!!
